LIL’ BITTS WEBSITE LAUNCH
October 31st 2005 was a red-letter day in the life of Lil’ Bitts. It signified
- The number 21(symbol of adulthood)
- Launch of her website www.jusbitts.com
- Launch of Carnival 2k6
The restaurant Veni Mangé on Ariapita Avenue was the prime choice with hostesses Allyson Hennessy and Rosemarie Hezekiah who ensured the media, promoters and producers enjoyed their sumptuous local dishes.
Guest included Carl ‘Beaver’ Henderson, Richard ‘Char Su’ Ahong, Lil’ Bitts producer for the third season, Kernal Roberts her writer, Miguel Drakes – from 91.9 FM Soca Bashment, Jason Williams – from Red 96.7 FM, E-Zone and Synergy fame, who acted as host, Ishmael Mustafa aka Ishmael ‘The Demolition Man’ of 96.1 WE FM fame, Peter Blood, Entertainment Columnist – The Pulse of the Trinidad Guardian, Cordelle Street of the Express, Alan Tardieu graphic artist and designer of Lil’ Bitts Logo and Banners, Mr. George Busby, Captain of Queens Park Football Team and his lovely wife Camille Campbell, Manager Marketing TSTT, Bunji Garlin Soca Monarch King for 2K2, 2K4 and 2K5 who sang Carnival Country (In My Country) with Lil’ Bitts, Faye Ann Lyons, Road March Queen 2K3, Sherma Orr, Manager for The Sweet Soca Man Baron, Lyndon Lara the brother of cricketer Brian Lara, a promoter in his own right, and a representative of her sponsors for the night A.S. Bryden & Sons amongst others.
This by Invitation dinner took Soca to another level. It’s the first of its kind by a soca artiste and was aimed at a different market. Last year’s launch – a boat cruise ride was solely dedicated to Lil’ Bitts fans while this year the focus was on another entity in the business. There are many components in the industry that must be addressed hence Premium Brand Entertainment, the parent company of Lil’ Bitts Productions ensures that all must be recognized, respected and acknowledged.
The night surely belonged to Lil’ Bitts when her big brother in the business Bunji Garlin was invited to navigate the web site www.jusbitts.com which was viewed by all present. Her brother, Sherrard Churche, poet, was invited to recite three of his poems, My Reflections, The World as I See It and A Country in Mourning. Lil’ Bitts stood lovingly at her brother’s side as his utterances were deep and thought provoking.
Bitts then performed her songs of 2k5 ‘Crush’ and ‘Bump’ followed by her songs for 2K6 one being ‘My Vibes’, a song inspired by her performance at Hard Rock Café, Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida and a statement made by Ian Pantin – Manager for Bunji Garlin when she first performed with ‘The Black Spaniard’.
The fun of the night for Lil’ Bitts was the sticking of the 21st Birthday cake with host Jason Williams, who has been a close friend of hers for years.
Unfortunately the golden voices that compliments Bitts voice on her recordings, H2O Phlo could not make it back to the venue on time due to traffic at the Divali Nagar and weren’t able to render the special dedication that was planned, but that’s all in the business of entertainment.
